Abstract

This GRIP Analysis outlines the process of tracing small arms and light weapons: marking, record-keeping and cooperation in tracing. It details the main provisions and mechanisms in the major international instruments in this field. Finally, it discusses the current challenges West African States face to improve their ability to trace small arms.
